addendum

The most wonderful thing happened today - my Jutta-friend called from Germany, and we had a nice, long chat! It made me very happy. She called while we were in Springfield, and I was so disappointed when we got home last night and I heard the message on the answering machine. So, when she tried again today, I was elated. I miss her so much, and it was so good to hear her voice and get caught up.

do my very best to help my son and give him what he needs

There was once an actual salamander in my Dad’s slipper (His house is in a rather wooded area and is a haven to many non-human creatures.), and my best friend and I thought that would make a great children’s book title. We never wrote the book, but I figured I might as well put the catchy phrase to use as my blog title. Why not? (We don't know for sure if it was really a salamander vs. some other kind of lizardlike creature, but we were going for the alliteration. Artistic license, ya know?)
