a first for nick

Last night, we took Nick to see his first movie in a theater - Wall-E. First of all, can we just talk about how outrageous it is that we had to pay $22 for the three of us to see the movie? Sheesh. Anywho, the movie was decent. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. It was sort of cute. That's my opinion, vague and non-helpful though it may be. :) As for Nick, he did OK. He had a pretty hard time sitting still and an even harder time understanding the meaning of "shhh!". It's not that he was being "bad," per se - he was just excited and wanted to comment and ask questions about things. He thought it was pretty cool, and said so, quite loudly, a few times. My final analysis is that he's not quite ready for the theater yet; it will probably be quite a while before we try that again. But, we tried, and now we know!

That's funny, because Bil just took Danny to see Wall-E on the 4th of July. That was his first time at the theater and he handled it about like Nick. He liked it, but had trouble sitting still the whole time. He got pretty antsy and a bit bored by the movie. I think he especially enjoyed the seats and bouncing in them. We probably won't take him to another one in a while--he seems to enjoy viewing a movie at home a lot more than the theater. But, I was glad we tried and that he did pretty well.

My next venture is to take him mini golfing, which he has shown a major interest in lately. I'll let you know how that goes.

Zara doesn't do so well at the movies either. She won't even sit for an entire movie at home though.
