So, just by mentioning my lack of babysitter in a status update on Facebook, I got one! What a happy surprise in the middle of a poopy day. :) Thanks to Brandy and Brianna...

Wow, sounds like Nick needs to grow a pair... HAHAHA. I am just kidding. Perhaps you should take him to the pool/lake more and show him it is OK to be in the water. Sorry I haven't been very comment-ish or blog-ish lately either. Ryan and I are just working our little booties off to save up some money. LOVE YOU!!
There was once an actual salamander in my Dad’s slipper (His house is in a rather wooded area and is a haven to many non-human creatures.), and my best friend and I thought that would make a great children’s book title. We never wrote the book, but I figured I might as well put the catchy phrase to use as my blog title. Why not? (We don't know for sure if it was really a salamander vs. some other kind of lizardlike creature, but we were going for the alliteration. Artistic license, ya know?)
I'm a 35-year-old woman currently living in small-town MO. I'm from Springfield, MO's 3rd-largest city, and I'll hopefully reside there again in the summer of 2010. I'm currently a stay-home mom to my 6-year-old son, Nicholas, but I'm also a classically-trained soprano, and I still sing in choirs when I get the chance and have the occasional paid solo gig. I'm also a certified group fitness instructor, and I teach a body sculpting class at my gym, in addition to subbing for other classes (like step and yoga) as needed. I consider myself pretty intelligent and well-educated (Bachelor's in vocal performance with a minor in German), and have sometimes been known to have a deep thought or two. :) I might even have some worth sharing. Most of my posts, though, will probably be more mundane, superficial ramblings about my daily life. Stay tuned, and let me know what you think! (Could I BE more long-winded?) :)
